October 10, 2019, 4:30 PM - 8:00 PM @ Shakopee High School
Please join Families and Individuals Sharing Hope (FISH) for their Annual Meeting on October 10! This annual meeting will begin with dinner at 4:30 and a program to begin at 6:00 PM at Shakopee High School (100 17th Avenue West, Shakopee).
Guest Speaker: Sadie Holland, Prevention Education Manager of “Know the Truth” Prevention Program (of the Minnesota Adult and Teen Challenge Program)
We are in a crisis and the numbers are rising, but we all have a role to play as we educate ourselves, others, and gain the tools to combat this epidemic of substance abuse. In this session, Sadie will review current trends, evidence-based prevention strategies, the transition between different drugs, and the addicted brain. In closing, you’ll learn warning signs and ways to get your loved ones help, should they need it. The audience members will also gain new perspective on youth substance use by hearing personal stories of addiction and recovery.
