Jordan native Luke Hennen completed his oath of office during Tuesday morning’s meeting of the Scott County Board of Commissioners. The oath marks the beginning of Luke Hennen’s first full-term as Scott County Sheriff. Originally appointed by the Scott County Board to replace retiring Sheriff Kevin Studnicka, Hennen has been serving as Scott County Sheriff since May of 2016. Hennen is Scott County’s 19th Sheriff.
Following the ceremony, Sheriff Hennen thanked the citizens who elected him, his wife Debra, daughters Audra and Lucille, his parents and family members, and his co-workers at the Scott County Sheriff’s Office and throughout Scott County. Former Scott County Emergency Management and Communications Captain Adam Pirri, a 16-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office, will continue to serve as Chief Deputy.
“I promise to continue working hard to maintain the trust and confidence needed to serve as your Sheriff successfully,” said Sheriff Hennen, “Our office has an amazing, experienced team who are driven to serve the public while working creatively with our partners to reduce crime in our area.”
Sheriff Hennen began his career with the Scott County Sheriff’s Office as a Corrections Officer at the Scott County Jail in 1997. He has previously held the positions of Corrections Officer, Patrol Deputy, Investigator, Patrol Sergeant, and Chief Deputy with the Scott County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff Hennen is a graduate of Minnesota State University, Mankato where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration. Sheriff Hennen’s current term lasts until 2022.
Scott County Commissioners Michael Beard and Jon Ulrich, Scott County Attorney Ron Hocevar, and new County Administrator Lezlie Vermillion were also sworn into their roles during this morning’s meeting of the Scott County Board of Commissioners
