Career Information Center: Provides information on careers and career clusters in the United States and Canada.  Job profiles cover nature of work, work environment, education, licenses, certification, job outlook, and similar occupations.

Data Axle (formerly Reference USA): Contains information on 16 million verified U.S. businesses. Information available includes company name, industry, geographic location, business size, executives, number of employees and sales volume.

Job, Career and Business eBook Collection: Use your library card from any of the 8 area metro library systems to borrow titles from this eLibrary collection. Read them in the Libby app or in a browser. 

JobNow: Functions as an online job coach and is available from 1-11 pm from any computer (except major holidays). Get help with resumes, job search techniques and interview preparation. It also includes a jobs and careers subject guide pathfinder with local Twin Cities resources and web links.

LearningExpress Job & Career Accelerator: Career exploration tools, a resume and cover letter builder, job search, and other materials related to career and job readiness.

LearningExpress Library: Includes practice tests in many areas including career test prep and job (and job readiness) skills. All new users of this database must have their own email address to be able to register.

LinkedIn Learning for Library (formerly Lynda.com): Self-paced, on-demand video tutorials for learning business, technical and creative skills. Includes topics such as software, photography, animation, presentation skills, game design, digital publishing, and cloud computing.

CareerForce (Shakopee): Offers job search assistance, advice on writing resumes and cover letters, and access to computers and office equipment, as well as networking opportunities and workshops. The Shakopee CareerForce offices are located in the Scott County Government Center, 200 4th Avenue W. in Shakopee.

CareerForce - Job Loss Resources: Learn about (and apply for) Dislocated Worker services, Unemployment Insurance, and job search workshops. 

CareerForce - Jobs in Demand Now: A listing of the 30 top occupations in demand in Minnesota, along with their daily work activities, education requirements, and how much you can expect to make.

CareerForce - Interactive and Virtual Services: Lists live online workshops on topics such as interviewing skills, writing/updating your resumé, and how to conduct a job search.  Provides listings for upcoming job fairs and hiring events, as well as other online resources, and obtaining assistance from a Spanish or Somali-speaking career counselor.

GCFlearnfree.org: Free online tutorials and classes in the basics of using computers and the internet and social media plus a variety of job and other essential skills. (Sitio en Español)

MN DEED: This Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development website offers a multitude of resources to job seekers, and special services to veterans, people with disabilities, or recently unemployed workers.

MinnesotaWorks.net: A searchable online jobs database with thousands of job listings from private employers statewide. You can also upload your resume, apply for jobs online, manage and track your job search efforts, and sign up for email notification of new job listings.

NorthStar Digital Literacy: Demonstrates basic computer and digital literacy skills to employers (or shows you where you may need further computer education). Areas tested include basic computer use, Internet, Windows and Mac operating systems, email, and Word (word processing).

Occupational Outlook Handbook: Published by the U.S. Department of Labor, this annual publication provides information on all types of occupations, including required training, certification or education, work environment, pay range, job outlook, and similar occupations.

Scott County Job Postings: Lists current job openings in all Scott County divisions and departments. 

State of Minnesota Job Listings: Lists current open positions with the state of Minnesota.
