Passport Application Process

Scott County will close all county buildings effective close of business today, March 17, to protect the safety of Scott County employees and residents.  This closure will remain in effect until at least Friday, April 10th, 2020. 

Scott County staff will continue to provide all life-safety and emergency services and will perform all services that can be performed through email, online, telephone, or other electronic means.

County staff are developing alternative ways to provide services and will update the public as new information becomes available.

You must apply in person If:
  • You are applying for your first U.S. passport; or
  • You are under age 16; or
  • Your previous U.S. passport was issued when you were under age 16; or
  • Your previous U.S. passport was lost, stolen, or damaged; or
  • Your previous U.S. passport was issued more than 15 years ago; or
  • Your name has changed since your U.S. passport was issued and you are unable to legally document your name change.
Apply in person at:
Shakopee Government Center (passport desk) across from Customer Service. We cannot take credit cards as a form of payment at this time.

Passport Desk Hours of Operation
  • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday: 8 a.m. through 3:30 p.m.
  • Thursday: 8 a.m. through 6 p.m.
