In the Library

Scott County Library has more than just books - we offer a wide variety of services.  Just ask our friendly staff if you have questions!

Computer/Internet/Wireless Use

All libraries have Internet computers connected to printers. Costs for printing are $0.10 per page for black and white and $0.50 per page for color. You can sign on to a computer with your library card and PIN or ask for a guest pass. Please see our Computer and Internet Use Policy (PDF) (en Español (PDF)) for more information.

All libraries have free Wi-Fi.

Meeting Rooms

Free public meeting rooms are available in all of our libraries. Events held in these rooms must be free and open to the public and the room can't be used for commercial purposes.

Our full meeting room policy is available for you to read, but here's what you need to know to get started:

  • To book a room, stop by, call, or email your library.
  • Before your meeting you will need to fill out and return a meeting room application.
  • Meeting room use may not interfere with the normal functions of the library.
  • Meeting rooms can be used during library closed hours in Belle Plaine, Elko New Market, Jordan, New Prague and Shakopee. You may need to check out a key with your library card.
  • Food and non-alcoholic beverages are allowed in the rooms though you must clean up when you are finished.
  • No audio/visual equipment is available in the rooms or for checkout.

Microfilm Readers

Microfilm readers are available at the New Prague and Shakopee Libraries. Copies are $0.50 per page.

Photocopying

All libraries have self-service black and white and color photocopiers. Standard sized copies are $0.10 per page for black and white copies and $0.50 per page for color copies.

Scanning

Scanning is available in all Scott County Libraries. Bring a USB drive to save your file, or you can email it.

Study Rooms

Most libraries have study rooms suitable for one or two people available on a first come, first served basis.
Larger study groups should consider reserving a meeting room. Study space, with electrical outlets, is also available outside of the rooms.
