Scott County Public health provides several programs to promote healthy families.  We focus on teaching families how to create a safe, nurturing environment for children.

Public health also shares community resources that can help support and enrich families.  

Public Health Children and Family Programs

  1. Car Seats

    Minnesota law requires all children who are 7 and under to ride in a federally approved car seat or booster seat, unless they are 4 foot 9 inches or taller​.

  2. Child & Teen Checkups

    Child and teen checkups is a comprehensive health and dental checkup for children who have Medical Assistance and Minnesota Care.

  3. Public Health Home Visiting

    Scott County Public Health offers home visiting programs that provide families support and guidance. These home visiting programs are designed to help families reach goals and connect with community supports. ​

  4. Follow Along Program

    The Follow Along Program helps parents learn about their child's health and development and gives them ideas about "what to teach" and "what ages to teach it".

Health plans
Families in Scott County on Medical Assistance have three different health plans to choose from:  Blue Plus, Health Partners and Medica.
Each health plan offers different rewards for preventative care and safety.
